Ajith meets the press
The star sounded quite philosophical and revealed his spiritual side. He looked very content and serene.
The meet began with Ajith talking about Aegan and his preparation for the role. The star said that everyone will enjoy Aegan as it is a fun movie filled with adequate romance, action and comedy. A remake of Main Hoon Na, it has been made in a way that anyone could relate to it. About the preparation for his role, the star said, “I had to increase my weight considerably to look big for this role.” He also added, “It is a rollercoaster ride for me. For my next film, which will be produced by Sivaji Productions, I will have to shed 25 kg.”
The film following Sivaji Productions’ presentation will be a milestone in Ajith’s career – his 50th film. Speaking about it, Ajith said that nothing has been discussed so far – not even the names of its director or producer.
About remakes, Ajith said that he was happy with Billa and that there has been a lot of talk about him working in yet another Tamil film’s remake, but in reality nothing such has been discussed yet.
Then Ajith said that of late, he has become more spiritually inclined. He commented that every man goes through this phase and there comes a point in everyone’s life where he begins to realize there is something more than personal achievements. Ajith remarked, “I have been through many things in the past. It has been 17 years since I began my acting career. There have been ups and downs, but today, I have achieved what I desired. At this point, rather than feeling euphoric, I feel silenced. I feel a different kind of hunger; may be it is a step closer to spirituality.”
Ajith also reasoned that silence is very important. “It is better to be silent and follow your ambitions and let your work do all the talking,” said the handsome actor. He also agreed that there have been times when his age and the experience or inexperience and energy associated with it determined his speech, and he even voiced his thoughts in public, but these days he prefers to remain silent as he has realized its importance. Ajith commented, “In the end, I want to be recognized as a good human being.”
The star used the occasion to thank all his fans: “If I have a respectable status in Kollywood today, it is all because of my fans. They have been instrumental in my growth. They helped me realize my goals and I am indebted to them.”
