Thee – Tamil Movie Review
Nothing seems to be changing our director’s mind as they are so clichéd in their thoughts. A Cop Story – of course, it’s something that we could’ve watched hundreds of time right from the times of our senior actors to the young lads picking it up though it doesn’t suit them. The Last time, we saw the film was Vishal ‘Satyam’ that went about ridiculous. Here comes Sundar C with a mediocre effects and it’s a bit average than his previous week’s release ‘Perumal’.
The film opens with Saami (Sundar C) walking nude across the streets of Chennai dressed up like a Poojari. Somehow, he gets into the party of ruling party lead by Shiyaji Shinde. With his best efforts and with the support of reigning actress Chitra Devi (Namitha), he wins the majority and becomes a MLA. He carries on with his worst atrocities amongst all the classes; Upper, middle and low-level people. Meanwhile, he visits a hospital where his pregnant wife Ganga (Raghini) is in Coma. A flashback reveals that Saami was actually Saarathi, a sincere police officer dead against the bad politicians, lawyers and criminals. As usual that happened in various flicks, his family is deadly attacked where his two kids are killed. Will his wife survive? What is his further actions forms crux of the story?
Sundar C as a police officer has done his best but watching him shaking his legs with a young girl for couple of songs is really ludicrous. Can’t zero down the exact reason why Namitha has been irritating us with her worst performance in all the films of Sundar C. We don’t care if it’s a package deal, but the audiences should be entertained. If she depends merely on her skin shows, it’s not the feature film where she is supposed to be… Raghini doesn’t appear in more than 4 scenes and so nothing else to mark on her performances. Shiyaji Shinde, Ponnambalam as baddies live up to the expectations while Manoj K Vijayan’s performance is top-notching. Appearing on the screens during the penultimate sequences, he steals the show overbeating Sundar C.
On the technical aspects, everything is completely disappointing. No matter however the story maybe, but a perfect screenplay and best technical aspects would gratify to the tastes of audiences. Possibly, both the factors are completely missing.
Srikanth Deva is up with an intolerable blasphemy of best classical songs. If ‘Kumari Pennin’ of MGR-Saroja Devi was spoiled with his ‘En Kedutha’ in Perumal, he spoils the splendiferous song of ‘KA KA’ of Sivaji Ganeshan’s ‘Parasakthi’ with a third rated Kuthu song. Better he can score good music or else get banned from scoring music. Cinematography and editing are so amateurish.
While depicting a police officer, Why Kicha depicts Sundar C as a mass hero is a million dollar question. A police officer needn’t be always shown with multi-dimensional CG works, rolling his moustache. When police officers go on strike the dacoits and criminals take on public with their atrocities. Does the filmmaker think audiences are fools? Would a Government remain silent witnessing the imbalanced operation? Wouldn’t the military forces get into services?
No matter how the story is, but Kicha should have penned a gripping screenplay to gratify to the tastes of audiences.
With Sun Pictures marketing the film, it would go ahead for few more days as there are no big releases awaited for a month from now.
Bottom – Line: Clichéd Police Story
Verdict: Watch it if you don’t anything worth doing…
