Shankar gearing up for 3 Idiots remake

Director Shankar, who is over whelmed with the success of Endhiran – The Robot, is now gearing up for his next project. The filmmaker is heading for the remake of Rajkumar Hirani’s blockbuster Hindi film 3 Idiots.

Recently, Shankar met the makers of 3 Idiots – director Raju Hirani, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Aamir Khan at the grand premiere of The Robot in Mumbai. Sources say that they had a long discussion about the Tamil remake.

Actor Vijay is playing the role of Rancho, which was played by Aamir Khan in the original. Earlier, Shankar wanted Madhavan to play the second lead but the actor was opted out as he is busy with other projects. Now, the buzz is that Jeeva is likely to do the role and the movie bosses are yet to finalize about the third lead, which was portrayed by Sharman Joshi in 3 Idiots.
