Theatres not to support Sun Pictures

Deposit refunds from Sun Pictures have not reached the theatre owners who have screened Endhiran, Sura, Vettaikaran, Mappilai and other films produced or distributed by them. Though the Tamil Nadu Theatre Owners’ Association discussed the issue with Sun Pictures over a period of time, several theatres are yet to get back their dues which is said to be about 2.50 crores.

Following this, the theatre owners have issued a statement that they will not screen any films that are produced or distributed by Sun Pictures from now on until the dues are settled.

The press statement released also mentions about a proposed meeting with the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha to cut down the entertainment tax for small budget films and set right the ticket prices in the state.
