Cheran’s Neon Nagaram on music piracy
Cheran is up with a new directorial venture titled Neon Nagaram. The actor/director made headlines for his brave act, re-releasing Sankagiri Rajkumar’s Vengayam recently. Stepping on to his next, Cheran has caught upon an interesting story in Neon Nagaram.
This new venture has music plagiarism as its theme and is the brainchild of a young team. A trusted scribe reported, “Cheran was busy with the Vengayam promotions and is happy to see the hard work pay off well. He will move on to his next very soon.” The actor decided to re- release Vengayam as he felt that good promotion would do wonders for the well-scripted release. He is now working closely with Shammeer and Shiva, who impressed the director with their Neon Nagaram plot. The director released the novel of the same name, some time back. Both Shammeer and Shiva are members of a Chennai based Rock band named Paadhai, who have been deeply troubled with the ongoing music piracy downing CD sales hugely. Even though new laws and regulations have come up, there has been a negligible impact when it comes to downloading music free of cost, forming the crux of Neon Nagaram. The project will go on floors in 2-3 months hereafter, with the cast and crew yet to be finalized.
