Aishwarya finding it hard to market 3 in North India
Aishwarya Dhanush, eldest daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, has openly expressed her anguish at the way she has been toiling hard to publicize and popularize the Hindi version of her directorial venture 3 among the North Indian audiences. “This is the situation despite me being Rajini’s daughter and the Why this Kolaveri di song already being a hit all over the country,” says Aishwarya.
3, which marked Aishwarya’s debut film as director, released early this year. Despite the immensely popular Kolaveri song, the Dhanush-Shruti Haasan starrer fell flat at the box-office. Aishwarya is now planning to release the film in Hindi apparently wanting to cash in on the popularity of the song among the masses.
Aishwarya is presently taking part in the 43rd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) being held in Goa. Speaking during the event, Aishwarya said “I’m finding it extremely difficult to popularize the Hindi version of 3 among the north Indian audiences. It’s surprising that despite my family background (of being Rajini’s daughter) and the highly popular Kolaveri song, I find the going tough in giving the film wide publicity!”
For her debut directorial venture, Aishwarya had signed up her husband and actor Dhanush and her close friend Shruti Haasan as the lead pair. “My purpose in making the film was to make the audiences forget their worries and get immersed in the film’s proceedings for more than two hours,” adds Aishwarya.
