Piya said that she is bored in donning glamour roles. Pia had acted in many Tamil films including Goa and Ko. She while speaking said,” So far I have donned commercial roles laced with glamour. So far my job was to come and pair with the hero and show glamour.
After Ko I started getting only those kinds of roles. Now I want to act in the roles which have scope for acting. I am donning the role of a Brahmin girl in the Tamil film Kootam. For the first time, I am wearing traditional half sari.
This is not my usual type of role. My role in this film is also laced with comedy. I was waiting for a different kind of script. That is how I got this film. This film is also being made in Telugu with the title Thalam. I am also acting in couple of Telugu films. Talks are going on for me to act in Tamil films.”
