Balakumaran honoured

The most popular novelist and writer Kalaimamani Balakumaran was conferred Vocational Excellence’ Award recently by Rotary Club of Adyar.
Rotarian Sridhar, director, Vocational Service has made a documentary on him. Balakumaran stated that only shame, pain and angst have made him write.
But the 10 years of rigorous reading that he did, prodded by his mother, have made him what he is today. Many of his short stories are taken from his own life.
Balakumran who had written dialogues for many films which include Shankar’s Kadhalan’ and ‘Gentleman’.
After the sad demise of writer Sujatha, Balakumaran has been roped in for Robot.
